The Czech Republic is replacing its sales-registration system, EET, with EET 2.0. The new law, Act No. 180/2026 Coll. on sales registration, was published in the Collection of Laws on 15 October 2026. Regular operation starts on 1 January 2027.
What the law does
EET, the electronic sales registration system, requires businesses to report sales from registered cash register systems to the tax administration. The new law sets the rules for the updated system. The Czech tax administration has said that January 2027 is when regular operation begins.
What to check
If your product records sales from Czech cash register systems, check that your system can send sales data in the format the administration specifies. The administration has published a data report specification with examples of how to fill in each item.
Confirm your cash register integration against the current specification before the start date. The rules on what data is reported, and how often, are set by the law and its technical documents, so use the administration's current documents rather than a summary.
